Tragedy again

I just learned that Nicol Sponberg, former member of Christian group Selah, has lost her infant son unexpectedly.  Her son was 10 weeks old.  According to the report that I read, Nicol had put her son to bed and checked on him around 9 p.m. to find him not breathing.  Paramedics were apparently called but were unable to resucitate him.  Please pray for this family.  Several weeks ago, Nicol’s brother, Todd, and his wife, Angie, lost their newborn daughter just hours after she was born.  Please pray for the entire Smith/Sponberg family as they deal with this tragic loss.  Please pray that they are surrounded with love and support.  Please, just pray…pray…pray…pray…

Lord, I don’t really know where to begin.  Todd & Angie lost their newborn daughter a few short weeks ago.  Steven Curtis Chapman and his family lost Maria Sue last week.  Now, Nicol has lost her infant son.  I can’t say that I understand this and I don’t know that I ever will.  Maybe it’s not for me to understand.  I pray that this family is surrounded by friends that love them and that will help them through the unexpected grief they now are going through.  Give them strength to somehow get through this.  Give them love.  Give them hope.  Give them peace.  Lord, I pray that you would give them the ability to see you through all of this and to rely on you.  You know what they need in this moment, Lord, and I pray that you would give them whatever it is that they need in whatever moment they need it.
