WHAT?!?!

Oy vey!  What is going on?  Brian Billick has just been fired by the Baltimore Ravens owner.  He was the head coach for many years, just the second head coach in the history of the team (at least in Baltimore).  Now…don’t get me wrong…I am not a Baltimore fan by any means.  However, I don’t always understand the issues and processes behind these decisions.  What is so confusing to me is how the head coach gets all the blame for a teams great or horrible record, etc.  I mean, Joe Gibbs was being touted as the return to greatness when he came back to the Redskins and just a few weeks ago there were lots of people talking about Joe leaving, etc.  Of course, now that we are in the playoffs, all the talk is about Joe and how wonderful he is, etc.  It’s crazy!  So…why is it that Brian Billick is the one getting all the blame for how horrible the Ravens were this season?  He is the head coach, but the players have at least some fault in all of this.  They are the ones that weren’t executing the plays or weren’t doing what it was they were supposed to be doing.  Just my two cents….
